Start the season right: the Holiday Open House and Gift Guide

Everyone has a holiday-gift disaster story: the time-saving gadget that’s anything but, that wholly unsentimental frying pan, the track suit so ugly you didn’t unfold it—so let the Torpedo Factory Artists’ Association dispel those rueful memories. This year, as you plan your holidays, come chat with Torpedo Factory artists. We’ll show you around our studios—and send you home with original gifts that are certain to delight.

On Thursday, November 29, from 6 to 9 p.m., start the season with the Holiday Open House. Sample wine, enjoy live music, see artists in their studios—and stop by the gift-wrap station to benefit the George Washington Middle School Orchestra.

Whether you visit us on Thursday or throughout the season, don’t forget to browse this year’s Holiday Gift Guide. Featuring gift suggestions under $50, $100, and $200, this indispensible booklet is available in several formats: You can pick up a print copy at the Visitor Information Desk, download a PDF, or browse a mobile-friendly flipbook.

You’ll find one-of-a-kind presents for all of your loved ones: paintings of every conceivable subject and style, limited-edition prints, unforgettable photographs, beautiful glasswork, handcrafted scarves and clothing, ceramics and sculpture ranging from whimsical cats to sumptuous, nature-inspired vases—and hands down, the most gorgeous jewelry in the D.C. area.

As the holidays get hectic, keep Torpedo Factory artists in mind. You’ll come here in search of presents for others, but you may end up finding that a quiet afternoon among sculptors, painters, jewelry-makers, and photographers is a much-needed gift for yourself.
