On Thursday, Jan. 7th, 6-9 pm, visit Target Gallery for a “Materialized Magic” Fiber Art Workshop with the 3rd annual CRAVE (Creating Resources for Artistic Vision and Engagement) winners, Erika Cleveland and Stacy Cantrell. You do not have to know how to knit, crochet, or needle felt, as instruction will be provided. All materials are free.
Erika and Stacy launched their CRAVE-sponsored “Materialized Magic” community art project in Spring 2015. The grant has allowed them to buy materials and supplies to provide free weekly lessons for people with all levels of experience in crocheting, knitting, and felting. Anyone involved can partake in creating a magical “Yarn Bomb” habitat, and also have a chance to be featured with the key artists. After the sessions and culminating exhibition, the leftover materials and supplies will be donated to the community through nursing homes, community centers, and non-profit organizations.
Please visit their Materialized Magic FB page at: https://www.facebook.com/Materialized-Magic-1067158919972401/ to learn more about the project and to receive updates. Materialized Magic will be meeting once or twice a month, at a varying locations.
