Camille Kouyoumdjian
Camille Kouyoumdjian’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in her relationship with the natural world. Her work is inspired by the experience of getting to know a landscape—not just by observing it, but by moving through it. Hiking, cycling, and kayaking through America’s national parks and beyond, she immerses herself in the textures, rhythms, and energy of the land, allowing these experiences to shape her creative expression.
Each piece she creates is a response to the way a place is felt rather than just seen—how wind carves through rock, how water reflects shifting light, how the ground changes underfoot with elevation. By layering materials and organic forms, she captures the dynamic, living essence of landscapes, translating their movement, history, and impermanence onto the canvas.
Her work invites viewers to slow down, to notice, and to engage more deeply with the landscapes that sustain us all. Through her art, she hopes to spark a sense of connection and stewardship, reminding people that to know a place is to care for it.
