The Torpedo Factory Artists’ Association (TFAA) is charting a new course for our art center with a detailed business plan that presents a compelling vision for a sustainable future. The City of Alexandria is committed to the Torpedo Factory, which will continue to be a major draw for visitors from all over the world and a cornerstone to the local creative economy. To that end, the City will be managing the building in a temporary capacity to afford adequate time to create a well-thought out governance structure. The TFAA has been leading the creation of that structure by capitalizing on 42 years of experience in building an active and engaged community, within our walls and beyond. The TFAA’s plan maintains the important focus on working artists, open studios while strengthening the connection between artists, visitors, and the Alexandria community. The details put forward in this plan seek to maximize the visitor experience and the opportunities for artists to innovate and grow their businesses.
